
Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty met with B. Smith during her recent book signing at the Mall of America this past Saturday November 14. Governor Pawlenty told B. Smith he was proud to have her in Minnesota, knowing that she was in Minneapolis working some of the states largest companies such as General Mills, Betty Crocker, and Pillsbury. In addition B. Smith was also in the state working with a minority business, The Alden Group. The Alden Group produces B.Smith Olive Oil, the first African America branded olive oil. Dan Gasby, B. Smith's Chairman said "we always enjoy spending time in Minneapolis. It is a city with a progressive reputation and a tremendous food and restaurant community. It is where a minority business has a chance to start and flourish".
