Designer Mary Emery showed B. a new way to etch fabric, using a product called Fiber Etch Fabric Remover, available in fabric or craft stores. This is a cream, which eats away at the fibers of the rayon, leaving the stronger silk intact. It is essential when etching fabric this way that you use a blended fabric -- rayon/silk, rayon/silk velvet, polyester/cotton, or linen/rayon for example.
